Josh Duggar In the Shadow of the Past

The recent news story about Josh Duggar’s past sexual sins has been a hot topic lately.  I have actually been doing research on the Duggars for quite some time and had some things already written or partially written with a view to dealing with their fame and fortune and public image.  This situation has forced me to go ahead, but in a way that I didn’t anticipate and with a topic that is very unsavory.  After doing research on this latest development in the Duggar drama, I’ve written an article at my web page, The Home Maker’s Corner.

Josh Duggar In the Shadow of the Past

1 Peter 1:24-25
For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

Poor Josh.  Bad Josh.  Hypocritical Josh. Victim Josh.  Mis-understood Josh.  Wicked Josh.  Good Josh.

"What about the victims?  Josh is getting too much attention."  "The victims shouldn't be getting attention, they shouldn't be exposed."  "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."  "Forgive and forget."

It seems like there are as many opinions on Josh Duggar's past sin as there are people.  At the risk of falling into that unending pool of opinion, I'm going to write something on the subject myself.  First, though, I will frankly say that I don't really know what to think about some aspects of this case.  For one thing, we don't have enough information to really know what was going on, and since the Duggars are not truly about public reality, we more than likely never will.  We don't really know what goes on inside the Duggar world and church fellowship, we only know the image that they present for public viewing.  Consequetly it's hard to make any solid conclusions.  However, some things come to mind.
