I was born and raised in Texas. I love it here, but we live in the suburbs of Houston, so we don't see scenes like this unless we head up north. I love springtime in the hill country. These pics make me want to take a long overdue trip back up there.
THIS IS SO lovely thank you!!! I miss wildflowers living up this far north in Minnesota, and that whole sence of the stairs and the flowers is perfect! I LOVE the pictures of the children below in the post last night..I did not get to post on it...the laughing and the smiles...I surely needed it too, and missed it, but LOVE IT NOW> thank you for all the lovely posts you do here, they are appreciated so much!!! What a beautiful yard of flowers! Texas has such a beautiful assortment of wildflowers in the spring, although I didn't see a bluebonnet anywhere in the yard! Oh how I love the beauty of those wildflowers growing... Enjoyed your sharing of this today :)
Texas does have a wonderful assortment of wildflowers. It's one things I especially like about this state. We have different flowers blooming from early spring till killing frost - not always big groups like this, but if you watch you'll see them. These flowers are among our early summer ones. Bluebonnets bloom earlier, which is why there weren't any in these pictures. :-)
I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was a joy to behold the year it was this thick. It's amazing how wildflowers look like a cultivated garden sometimes. Truly God's handiwork is lovely.
Oh wow...that's the yard I want! No mowing, only lovely flowers to look at!

ReplyDeleteThose are wildflowers, but my dad encouraged them a little too. This year they didn't come up nearly as thickly for some reason.
