The Missionary No One Remembers

Ephesians 3:20-21  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

We’ve had a particularly busy week, so this Lord’s Day I am posting a link to an item I happened across on my dad’s site while doing research for this month’s “Word of the Month” post.

The Village that Lived by the Bibleby Clarence W. Hall

This short story really blessed my heart!  We little know how greatly some very small thing we do for the Lord might increase in fruit.  I’m sure this missionary, whose name is not even remembered, didn’t think that he did much for those people, and perhaps he regretted that he couldn’t do more.  How often we do regret things sometimes, only to learn later that we had done more than we could ever imagine.  This is because we are not the ones who give the increase, God does and His power is limitless.  Think what a surprise awaits this man at the Judgment Seat of Christ!

1 Corinthians 3:6-9  I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

1 In the harvest field now ripened
There’s a work for all to do;
Hark! the voice of God is calling
To the harvest calling you.

Refrain:
Little is much when God is in it,
Labor not for wealth or fame;
There’s a crown, and you can win it,
If you go in Jesus’ name.

2 Does the place you’re called to labor
Seem too small and little known?
It is great if God is in it,
And He’ll not forget His own.

3 When the conflict here is ended
And our race on earth is run,
He will say, if we are faithful,
"Welcome home, My child, well done!"

  1. Oh, to hear our Heavenly Father one day say... "Well done!" How I pray I will be used by Jesus Christ to the fullest and may I remain faithful in Him. Beautiful post, my friend. Thanks for sharing with Roses of Inspiration.
