Evening Song - Must I Go and Empty-Handed?
A young man who was dying after only being a Christian for a very short time said these heart-rending words, "No, I am not afraid [to die]; Jesus saves me now. But oh! must I go, and empty-handed?" The words inspired the pastor, C. C. Luther to write this poem which was later put to music.
Matthew 9:36-38 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Beautiful song and lovely, talented young ladies...they have such great harmony.
ReplyDeleteYes they do. It was one of the things their family was known for. I had the blessing of meeting these three ladies once years ago when their family visited mine in Arizona. :-)
DeleteI'm glad you were blessed.
Beautiful words and I thoroughly enjoyed the video. Very nice singing :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were blessed by it and I'm sure they would be too! :-)
