Free Printable - Word Art Project - Jeremiah 32:17
Here is another Word Art Wednesday scripture graphic for you created with their scripture graphic and my art work. This time I only made a 5x7 inch graphic because it appeared to me that this one could still be shrunk to 4x6 inches without too much loss around the edges. Also, because there is a top and bottom border and some space on the sides, you should be able to trim it down after printing if you so desire.
Click here and then click the download button in the lower right corner to save a high quality version of this graphic.
Get the original "word art" scripture graphic for you own use here.

Show No Mercy, Give No Quarter?
I posted this link here several years ago, but it seems like a good time to repost it due to all the merciless judgment and lack of compassion we are seeing of late.
James 2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
------------
Our natural response, if not too weak, is inclined to be too hard. We forget that ...we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12 We are often inclined to count the person as the enemy, and in giving Satan no mercy nor quarter, our human tendency is to react upon the person in giving them no mercy nor quarter either. It is this forgetfulness and merciless attitude that eventually leads some to extremes like the Thompson brothers who beat a Mexican boy nearly to death in Austin, Tx.; and the infamous godhatesfags.com and Westboro “church”, that encourages wild rage against many sinners for whom Christ died…

Nevertheless Afterward - by Annie Johnson Flint
Here is a poem to remind us that the Lord has reasons for the dark times through which He allows us to pass. We can trust Him take us safely through to the other side.
Hebrews 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
Hebrews 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
I was so happy in my lot,
I was so glad of work or play,
I only asked that I might walk
With others on life's common way;
My Father let the sorrows come
That blotted out the sunlit skies,
That stopped the toil of busy hands
And turned my laughter into sighs.

Evening Song - Jesus Is Mine
John 14:2-3 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Card Making - Word Art Project - 1 Corinthians 13:13 - Printable
I decided to try participating (at least some) in the Word Art Wednesday projects this year. I'm not sure how often I'll be doing this, but their free scripture verse art and my own enjoyment of card making and offering my reader free graphics seemed like a good combination, so I'm going to give it a go, Lord willing.
Here is my first effort. As usual, these are free and you can click on them to download them in their original size. I will be posting my cards in 5"x7" and 4"x6" sizes. I hope someone will enjoy using them to create their own cards. :-)
The files are rather large because I saved them in 300 dpi in order to keep the text at a good quality for printing. You may need to select the correct size on your printer in order to get them to print in the proper sizes. You should be able to size them down if you want a smaller size, just know the text could become unreadable if you make them too small. You can add color or embellishments to your heart's content. :-) The lower graphics might look nice printed on colored paper - probably a lighter color.
Enjoy!

A Death No One Grieves
2 Chronicles 21:19 Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings.
It has been reported that a man who lived in southern Texas died from cancer in January of 2017. According to the report, his family does not plan to have any funeral for him, and if the details given are accurate, this is not surprising. The obituary that was originally posted, apparently by a family member, on the web site of the funeral home was scalding to say the least. Due to the attention it was getting, it has been removed, but it was reported on before they got it down.
Here are some of the things claimed:
First of all, Mr. "L. Smith" was a veteran who had been a
champion boxer while in the Navy. He also had a record of several
arrests relating to violence against other people, including a former
wife.
According to the writer of the obituary Smith's
bad parenting was
combined with "mental illness and a complete commitment to
drinking, drugs, womanizing and being generally offensive."

Blessed Quietness at The Enchanting Rose Blog
Here is a lovely post by Stephanie at The Enchanting Rose featuring the hymn "Blessed Quietness". Since that is the hymn which my dad named his web page after, and since this is his birthday, I thought it would be a nice post to share with my readers today. :-) Please go over and enjoy her encouraging post and beautiful photos.

Writing Challenge #2
2 Corinthians 3:12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
February is a shorter month so I thought we'd do one of the shorter challenges on my list. However, this one may prove more intense that it first appears.
----------------------------------
Write five sentences on a subject you are passionate about. Only five - or less, if you like.
The point of this is to write succinctly and with exactness to convey passion and meaning in just five sentences, or less.
----------------------------------
Here is my effort -
Sadly, she was raised in a church and home where purity was idolized, but where innocence was taught and maintained more through ignorance than through knowledge of life. She never learned to recognize the behavior of a man who is full of lust-driven, evil intentions. Certain situations did make her uncomfortable and cautious, but she was doomed to suffer greatly from the terrible lack of knowledge forced upon her by those who valued "emotional purity" more than her personal safety. Tragedy and fear taught her where her church and parents failed.

When Skies Are Brass - By Martha Snell Nicholson
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
When Skies Are Brass
When skies are brass and, though we pray,
No answer comes; and when our day
Is filled with pain and grief and care,
Sometimes we wonder, "Is God there?
And does He hear us - does He know
The pangs we suffer? And if so -
Because He is omnipotent,
And we so weak, our small strength spent -
Why not reach down His mighty hand
To help?" Could we but understand
His ways with us - could we but know
What God is doing for us now!
What is God doing for us now?
O child of His, why should we know?
He is the Potter, we the dust,
Shaped by His hand. Can we not trust?
Enough that He, the Perfect One,
Will finish what He has begun.
The Master Artist's own design,
Worked out in lives like yours and mine.
The Shepherd knoweth what is best
For that small lamb upon His breast;
And tenderly the FATHER feeds
And nourishes the child He leads.
O suffering ones, whose skies are brass,
Know that all grief and pain will pass;
All tears be dried. We may be sure
This life is but the overture.
Some day our voices we shall raise
In swelling symphonies of praise . . .
We could not bear it yet to know
What God is doing for us now!
- by Martha Snell Nicholson
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Quicker, Easier Scrappy Four Patch Tutorial
Another quick and easy tutorial from Jenny Doan at the Missouri Star Quilt Co. This one is for scrappy four patch blocks.
You could also do this with 10 inch squares (layer cakes) and get a quilt much quicker. As long as your squares are all cut the same size you could use any size fabric squares, but really large ones might become awkward to handle.
This could be a great way to use up those stray 5" "charm" squares from other projects as well. Doll quilts and baby quilts would be quick projects.
