Here is a poem to remind us that the Lord has reasons for the dark times through which He allows us to pass. We can trust Him take us safely through to the other side.
Hebrews 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

I was so happy in my lot,
I was so glad of work or play,
I only asked that I might walk
With others on life's common way;
My Father let the sorrows come
That blotted out the sunlit skies,
That stopped the toil of busy hands
And turned my laughter into sighs.
Beautiful words, my friend. It was amazing to see this, because the dear Lord has been bringing that "nevertheless afterward" to my heart lately so much. Thank you for this encouragement. :) God bless you with anything you may be going through.
ReplyDeleteThank you, friend. I've had a lot of different people who are dealing with really difficult things cross my path recently. Perhaps this is one reason why the Lord laid this poem on my heart for this week.
DeleteAt present my husband and I are both sick.
Thank you for sharing this. It was much needed encouragement for me as I go through a dark season, but praise our great God and Saviour who shall bring me safely through.
