I Love Homemaking...

Here is a fun and thoughtful list of reasons to love homemaking, especially if you can be a full time keeper at home. I first published this on the Home Maker's Corner years ago and I do not know for sure where I got this list or who Laine is, but I hope you enjoy reading it. There are many privileges to being a full time homemaker. I find it somewhat provoking that some women are offended when we value them like we should. Hopefully this will inspire others to see that this is a valuable and useful "career choice." ;-)

  1. It's a very beautiful post, and slightly makes me sad for some of the years that I worked as a teacher rather than being able to stay at home. I was so fortunate to have my mum nearby to help with my children.

    1. I'm glad you enjoyed the post. Laine's ideas were lovely and it was fun to illustrate it. Sometimes it becomes necessary for mothers to work outside the home because of difficult situations. It's very helpful to have good, family caregivers for the children when that happens. :-) I'm sure you were still able to enjoy many of the little pleasures of homemaking even then.

  2. I just finished reading "I Love Homemaking." Thank you for sharing, sweet friend, for I was greatly touched by the words. Indeed, I, too, love homemaking, and yes, it is what the Lord has called me to do :)

Wishing you a joyous day! Hugs!

  3. What a great homemaking list! I love all those things too. It gets lonely at times not being able to find other women sharing that same love. Thanks for blessing my heart today :-)

    1. I'm so glad you were blessed! Laine's words are an encouragement and I enjoyed illustrating them. It is sometimes lonely being a homemaker full time in this world as we know it. It's good to remember how very many sweet reasons there are to persevere. :-)

  4. BELLISIMO Y ME SIENTO IDENTIFICADA CON TODO, ALABADO SEA EL SEÑOR PÓR EL LUGAR QUE ME DIO EN ESTE MUNDO, SER GUARDIAN DE MI HOGAR, DEDICAR MI TIEMPO PARA AMAR AL SEÑOR Y A MI FAMILIA, ES UNA GRAN BENDICION, LASTIMA QUE HOY SE LE DE TAN POCO VALOR A LA FAMILIA Y A SER UNA AMA DE CASA. BENDICIONES HERMANA.

  5. I've read Laine's Letters since my children were babies! Here's a blog post that I wrote once upon a time about my love of homemaking.

    1. Thank you, Laura. I didn't know who Laine was. I think I might have found this list in a magazine or possibly someone sent it to me in email. I'm not really sure. It seems likely it's the same Laine, although apparently her blog is no longer active. Thanks for sharing your link too. :-)
