Ode to the Unwritten Pages – A Poem

Ode To The Unwritten Pages

Midnight strikes and the old year's gone,
We close the tablets we've written on.

Pages soiled with blunder and regret,
Stories written with eyelids wet.

But within our reach, before us now laid,
Are twelve new volumes which the Lord has made.

With unmarred pages, pure and white,
For us our daily lives to write.

A new year dawns, with new hopes and goals
New lessons to learn and victories untold.

Please help us Lord to cherish each hour
And fashion our lives by your mighty power.

So with hope and doubt, with joy and fear,
We write the story of another year!

by Paul Taylor

Psalms 86:11  Teach me thy way,
O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite
my heart to fear thy name.
