I love the 1960 photo of Mom in the blue dress with the shawl especially - so feminine and pretty!! :) Of course she is a beautiful woman inside and out at any time anyway, but that one is very striking! xx

Wow! What a beautiful lady and wonderfullly well-made dresses! What´s happened to fashion since then? Why do some women think they´re cool and pretty when they dress as if they had just taken their clothes/rags out from the trash can (the more torn and faded, and the less amount of fabric, the better)? Women like this one are really an example. Christian godly ladies should be an inspiration of loveliness and beauty in a dark, confused world. If we try, we can be preaching even without talking, only by our modest and beautiful appearance. Thank you for this encouraging post!

I was just noting it recently in a video and wondering at the young lady's shredded jeans. Not so many years ago they would have been considered totally unacceptable, and in this case she was wearing them to record a music video. I don't understand that at all. To me it almost shows a lack of self-respect, and certainly a lack of what it means to honor the Lord in our outward appearance (which is all that man can see!).
