Oh, for the Bliss of Heaven

Oh, for the Bliss of Heaven

The roseate hues of early dawn,
The brightness of the day,
The crimson of the sunset sky,
How fast they fade away;
Oh, for the pearly gates of heaven;
Oh, for the golden floor;
Oh, for the Sun of Righteousness,
The setteth nevermore!

The highest hopes we cherish here,
How fast they tire and faint;
How many a spot defiles the robe
That wraps an earthly saint;
Oh, for a heart that never sins;
Oh, for a soul washed white;
Oh, for a voice to praise our King,
Nor weary day or night!

Here faith is ours, and heavenly hope,
And grace to lead us higher;
But there are perfectness and peace
Beyond our best desire.
Oh, by Thy love and anguish, Lord,
Oh, by Thy life laid down,
We have been purchased by Thy grace,
And hope to win a crown!

John 14:2-3  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Farm country and warmer winters and long falls nad early springs.This ahs been my home for most of my life other than being born in Chicago and going through high school there then coming here to run a family resort with my parents. Now alone..this move is a huge one...on my own..you know, just making one's own decisions..so thank you for your loving post on many manions..that I will hold in my thought as every place is God's place and I am sure it will be lovely..I will let you know--Love and rest in God MErri

    1. Well, it is a big thing to be moving on your own for the first time! I do hope that it all goes well and that you like the new place. Having moved many times I know that there is usually something to like in the new place, even if there are drawbacks as well.

      The many mansions of heaven are a hope and comfort. I have tried to remind myself for years that where we live is only a "temporary dwelling place" on our way to heaven and not to let my disappointment (or my appreciation) in a place mean too much in the bigger picture. And after all, all the places I've had to live so far weren't all that bad as "temporary dwelling places." :-) But, the best is yet to come!
