Photo and Scripture - The Lilies of the Field

Luke 12:27-32 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

  1. Hello, we had some lilies that looked like that in our garden this year. You know we moved to a new house. We have several different kinds of lilies in the yard. It's been fun seeing what blooms. We probably won't change much with the flower beds until next year.

    1. These wild day lilies were on our neighbor's property in Tennessee. We had the same kind in Michigan years ago when my family lived there. You can eat the flowers as long as you haven't used any fertilizers or anything that could make them unsafe in recent months. My dad liked putting them in salads, and at least once added some to soup. The flowers themselves were a little odd to eat, but it was the ants in my soup I objected to the most. hehe

I read one post about your new house. It is fun to see what comes up in a new place. :-) I hope you're having some pleasant surprises.
