Mug Exchange Reveal

Philippians 4:4  Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

This autumn I decided to participate in the tea cup and mug exchange hosted by Stephanie at The Enchanting Rose. Since I don't use tea cups or collect them, I opted for a mug since we do use those regularly. Today was the day Stephanie selected for the big reveal of what we received. A warm "Thanks!" to Stephanie for going to all the work of putting these exchanges together. I *think* she does two a year, but there is at least one. :-)

The lady I was to send a mug to was Cheryl at Homespun Devotions. I don't have a photo of my gift to her because I sent it through Amazon, but here is a link to her post. We have enjoyed getting to know each other. :-)

The lady from whom I received a mug was Anne at Phamily Blog.  She sent me the items pictured here.

There was this neat mug, more in a minute on that, plus the mint tea blend. She also enclosed the tea pot shaped white tea bag holder (or spoon rest if you prefer), some silicone tea holders for steeping loose teas, some honey sticks, a two year planner, a grocery tote bag that fits into a strawberry shaped pocket, and a nice letter. :-) It was nice getting to know her too.

This mug is special because it not only has a lid to keep your drink hot, but there is also a strainer inside which you can use for loose teas and herbs. Once the tea is brewed you remove the strainer with the tea leaves or herbs to leave clear tea. Or, if you are using a tea bag, you can just remove it and use the mug without the strainer. Pretty clever, huh?

Anyway, I appreciate Anne's gift and the thought she put into it. :-)  Thanks, Anne!

Some of my readers may be wondering where the monthly challenge is for November.  I'll try to post that on Friday if possible.  I am sick right now and I don't know what it is so I'm not sure how long it might take to recover or if I'm coming down with a cold on top of whatever else is going on.  Is that confusing? My brain is muddled tonight so I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

  1. Oh, I am SO sorry to know that you are sick! Bless your heart! I do trust Jesus to heal you quickly and not allow it to linger very long. I am so grateful to you for the kind words and wonderful gift box. It is so sweet to have renewed our friendship, and I look forward to many future visits. God bless you, and I hope you feel better soon. :)

  3. Oh, how I enjoyed seeing what you received from Anne! Did you know that she and I along with a few others will hopefully be meeting up for tea in a week and a half. I am quite excited!

Anyway, your package is lovely and the mug is perfect for loose tea. A friend of mine gave me one similar {it was from China} many years ago and I love using it when I want loose tea. Enjoy, sweet friend :)

Also, I loved seeing what you gave to Cheryl. The mug is so cute and perfect for fall. The journal and devotional were perfect and I know Cheryl will enjoy them.

Thanks for joining the fun. Hugs to you!

    1. I hope you have a lovely time meeting with the other ladies! If we ever make it up that way maybe we can meet too. My husband has family in Colorado.

Thank you so much for hosting the exchange and all the work you put into it! I am happy with the gifts I received. Anne did well. :-)

      ((hugs))

    1. Thank you, Debby Ray. I am feeling better, but I don't think I'm done with the stomach bug yet. I think I'll be eating bland foods for awhile yet probably.

It was really nice to participate in the exchange this time. I hadn't thought before about ordering things through Amazon, but when I saw that Stephanie had done so for someone who didn't get a package I realized I could do that. Getting out to shop is sometimes a challenge for me, but this way I could participate without having to figure out how to do that. :-) I did receive a nice package.

  6. I think the mugs with a built in strainer are a great idea, yours has such a pretty pattern and lid to keep your tea hot. Lovely other items too - I see honey sticks which are great for travel.
I recall seeing your parcel to Cheryl that was from Amazon and thought that was an innovative idea.
Hope you feel better, it was nice to visit through the exchange.

I got the idea of ordering through Amazon from Stephanie. Since getting out to shop is a challenge to me sometimes, that made it possible for me to participate without having to go out. :-)

I am feeling better, though not over the bug. Hopefully it clears up entirely in a day or two.

  10. What wonderful treasures. The subdued colors on that beautiful-yet-practical mug are lovely.

Keep in mind that if you turn the mug lid upside down it becomes an underplate for the strainer, too. It works well if using a teabag or coffee bag (I make my own sometimes with special little paper bags I buy online from a tea store,) but won't work if you use loose-leaf because it's too watery and would make a mess.

The tea exchange was so special - Stephanie works so hard to bring like-minded ladies together - the friendships that form are the very best treasures received of all!

    Have a blessed weekend.
