Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
These Texas boys lent a helping hand to a 75 year old lady in their community when they learned that there was a warrant out for her arrest. She had not been able to mow the large grassy area on her property, which was a problem because it was taller than the legal height allowed. After not receiving a letter ordering her to appear before the judge about it, she didn’t appear in court and a warrant was issued for her arrest (more than likely because she was “in contempt of court”, not because she didn’t mow her grass). These young men heard about it and decided to help her out, which inspired some others also. Take a look. :-)
Note to the cynical: Please don’t make a big deal about how “awful” the law is, or the judge is, etc. In Texas, tall, dry grass in hot weather poses a serious fire risk, especially in neighborhoods. And, in Texas, believe me, the grass gets dry and the weather gets hot! The length of 18 inches actually seems kind of generous to me, considering. Also note that we are not told exactly what the penalty was for not mowing the grass. As mentioned above, it appears to me that the warrant was made because she was “in contempt of court”, not because she didn’t mow her grass. :-)
