When I see apples I think of my father who spent many years growing them. To me I see the hard work dad put into growing apples, through fire, hail, drought, heat and bugs etc... he never gave up. And we ate apples all year round and mum could cook every way possible!!
Apples are probably a comfort food in more places than North America. :-) We've never had such an abundance of apples as we did when my family lived in Michigan. We canned and stored and even pressed (for cider) apples when we lived there. My mom's apple sauce was a staple in our home. :-)
What is it about apples that make us so happy? Beautiful photo :)
ReplyDeleteThanks. I think...they are an American comfort food. :-)
DeleteThose are SO pretty!!! I love the colour of the blue bowl with the colour of the apples - makes them look even more beautiful, I think! :)
ReplyDeleteYes. And, I noticed they looked better on the green grass than on the gray board walk at that house as well. :-) This was taken when we lived in Tenn.
